Assassin’s Creed series has been shunned many times for not being original and sometimes even faced complete annihilation from its fans for being similar. They often gave fans a feel that the games wee always rushed and not polished. An example for this situation is Assassin’s Creed Unity which was broken at release and it was clearly obvious that it was rushed. When Asssassin’s Creed Syndicate came about, the game was well polished and well designed but again shunned because people thought there was not much efforts put into it.
A year later, the masterpiece Assassin’s Creed Origins came out, the game has been immaculate to say the least. The added RPG elements were just attractive to the detailed open world that AC has to offer. Everything was peachy and the open world was just so beautiful, however there was a catch. You can’t always access every part of the map without being detected or starting a fight with some of NPCs, this indeed has added a challenge but also a nuisance where when we just want to awe the natural beauty of the game we were unable to do so.
Folks at Ubisoft showed their fans again that they are listening to their suggestions with this beautiful and brilliant DLC called the Discovery Mode. This DLC gives you detailed information about the places you visit and the things you can do in the vast open world of Assassin’s Creed Origins. A free DLC has been given to all platforms in the regard and the DLC enables users to visit handcrafted sites around ancient Egypt to show the beautiful architecture and monuments.
Whenever you approach an architecture or a monument, an instant history lesson pops up on the screen. This has been a great addition to an already immersive game. This also gives a possibility for schools and other educational institutes.
Ubi and Origins:
The move from Ubitsoft has been highly praised by the community and players and the icing on the cake is that it is free to download. A complete revamp of free roaming is an added advantage to an already immersive game. Assassin’s Creed Origins is a great addition to the AC series and probably the best game after Black Flag. Edward Kenway was the selling point in that but we have a beautiful Ancient Egypt with amazing RPG elements.
Assassin’s Creed is one of the best video game series ever. Ubisoft has found great success over Ezio’s trilogy and AC IV, Unity was a stumble and Syndicate was a lesson learnt and Origins is definitely a comeback. With great additions like these and improvements with fans’ requests, Ubisoft’s AC series will be one of the most successful gaming series. Only if Ubi doesn’t take the success to the head and start pushing series and killing them like Watch Dogs and Far Cry. Oh, and Far Cry 5 seems potential, only time can tell.
